Affordable Spay & Neuter was opened July 16th 2008, by Dr. Matthew Wheaton of Alicia Pet Care Center, in an attempt to help address the animal overpopulation issue, and to give the community an affordable alternative. We are committed to providing high quality spay and neuter services at an affordable cost. Our goal is to provide a valuable service at severely discounted rates through help from our community, private donors, grants and corporate sponsorships. ASN is a Non-Profit 501c3 corporation. We pledge to treat each patient in a caring and gentle way and to communicate with every owner in a professional manner. By serving the community that needs a low cost alternative for spaying or neutering their pets, we hope to make a major impact on the number of animals that end up at local shelters. Operating as a non-profit entity, by donating all net proceeds to The Pet Rescue Center, allows us to focus on service to our community rather than profitability.

Our patients will receive an iv catheter and iv fluids during their procedure to ensure proper hydration and blood pressure. (Male cat neuters will not routinely receive iv catheters due to the short procedure time.) Our patients will also be anesthetized with safe anesthetic agents and they will have anesthetic monitoring via pulse oximetry, EKG, and blood pressure.

All patients will be sent home with pain medications at no extra charge. We recommend but do not require pre-anesthetic blood work for all surgeries. Blood testing can be performed at an additional discounted cost in the clinic the day of the procedure. Our doctors are licensed in California, highly experienced, and trained specifically on methods to increase safety and efficiency with spays and neuters.
